Several of the belly dancers at the 2006 Renaissance Faire suggested that I go to the Cairo Carnivale in June. This is a belly dancing convention, and it features hundreds of belly dancers.

The Carnivale was held at the Santa Anita race track in Santa Ana. There were dozens of belly dancing shows (perhaps hundreds), booths selling clothing and various other belly dancing accessories, games, food and many other things. It was fun seeing the different styles of dancing and outfits; this is very different than a Renaissance Faire, but nonetheless, it was worth the trip and the price of admission.
